The purpose of this study is to explore the police officers' job ethicslevel through analyzing for police officers' crimes trends. In order toachieve this purpose the trends analysis and the graphic analysis wereconducted using MS-OFFICE 2010 EXCEL on the police officers' crimesfrom 2002 to 2012. The followings are the results of this study. First, the police officers' criminal law crimes were not seriouschanges, and the weight of the police officers' criminal law crimes wasdecreased comparing to the entire civil service's criminal law crimes. Second, the police officers' special law crimes were decreased, andthe weight of the police officers' special law crimes was decreased comparingto the entire civil service's special law crimes. Third, the police officers' total crimes were not serious changes, andthe weight of the police officers' total crimes was decreased comparingto the entire civil service's total crimes. In addition, it needs the national care and support to the police, thepolice's own spontaneous purgation in order to enhance the police officers'job ethics, the continuous researches on the police officers' jobethics.

본 연구는 경찰공무원의 형법 및 특별법 범죄 변화추이 분석을 통한 직무윤리 수준을 탐색하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이와 같은 목적을 달성하기 위하여 2002년부터 2012년까지 발생한 경찰공무원의 형법 및 특별법 범죄 발생건수를 MS-OFFICE 2010 EXCEL을 사용하여 변화추이 및 그래프 분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 경찰공무원의 형법범죄 발생건수는 큰 변화가 없고 전체공무원의 형법범죄 대비 비중이 감소하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 경찰공무원의 특별법범죄 발생건수는 감소하는 가운데 전체공무원 범죄의 특별법범죄 대비 비중이 감 소하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 경찰공무원의 전체범죄 발생건수는 큰 변화가 없고, 전체공무원의 전체범죄 대비 비중이 감소하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 경찰공무원의 직무윤리 제고를 위해서는 다음과 같은 후속조치가 진행되어야 한다. 첫째, 경찰공무원의 범죄 발생추이에 대한 지속적인 관리·감독과 병행해 경찰공무원에대한 범국가적, 범국민 적 우호적인 관심과 지원이 필요하다. 둘째, 경찰조직 스스로 인성교육 실시, 내부규정 강화, 전문기관 확인 등을 통해 경찰에대한 범국민적 인식 개 선에 노력해야 한다. 셋째, 경찰공무원의 직무윤리에 대하여 범죄 변화추이에 대한 탐색적 연구, 중·장기 추세분석에 근거한 시계 열 분석 등 지속적인 연구가 필요하다.
