The Purpose of this study is to examine the effects of peer counseling activities on the bullying prevention of elementary school students in 5th grade. To achieve this purpose, 6 peer counselors were trained by peer counseling program. After training, they did peer counseling activities to 15 students in the same class(experimental group). To verify the peer counseling effects, control group which was similar to the experimental group in the degree of Harm-Damage Measure and Indifferent attitudes was chosen through the pre-test. The experimental group took part in the peer counseling and carried out the post-test and control group carried out the post-test without any program. The pre-test and post-test tools were ‘Harm-Damage Measure by bullying’ and ‘Questionnaire to measure indifferent attitude levels toward bullying’. The Findings of this study were as follows: The experimental group showed significant decrease in the level of bullying damage-harmful attitudes(alienation behavior, verbal behavior, physical behavior) and the indifferent attitudes compared to the control group. This results were supported and intensified by qualitative data based on participants' experience reports and observations by researcher. The results of this study indicated that the peer counseling have positive effects on preventing bullying.

본 연구는 집단따돌림 가해-피해 태도 및 방관 태도에 또래상담 활동이 어떠한 영향을 미치 는가를 알아보고자 실시되었다. 또래상담자는 서울시 D초등학교 5학년 학생 중 의사소통적 공감 수준이 높은 남학생 3명과 여학생 3명을 선정하였다. 연구대상인 또래내담자는 같은 반 학생 중 또래상담자를 제외한 15명의 학생이다. 또래상담자는 8회기로 구성된 또래상담 훈련 프로그램으로 또래상담 훈련을 마쳤고, 의사소통적 공감 능력이 향상되었음을 확인하였다. 또래상담 훈련을 마친 후, 6명의 또래상담자가 속한 집단은 실험집단으로, 동질성이 확보된 다른 집단은 통제집단으로 배치하고 실험집단 내에서 또래상담 활동을 시작하였다. 본 연구 의 결과는 다음과 같다. 또래상담을 받은 실험집단은 통제집단에 비해 집단따돌림 가해-피해 태도가 감소되었으며 가해-피해 태도의 하위요소인 소외형, 언어형, 신체형 가해-피해 태도가 모두 유의미하게 감소하였다. 또한 실험집단은 통제집단에 비해 집단따돌림 방관 태도가 감 소하였다. 이러한 결과는 내용 분석 자료에 의해서 지지되고 보충, 심화되었다.
