Student self-evaluation is a kind of new alternative evaluation method which asks the students to do the evaluation for their own learning activities. Many researchers have tried to apply this new evaluation method to the college students and education, and could got the successful results; self-monitoring, finding out the meaning of learning activities, and the facilitation of self-directed learning. In this point, we can say that student self-evaluation is not only a kind of new evaluation method, but also a kind of new teaching and learning strategies, especially for making learners be a active learners or self-directed learners. Taking notice of it, we expected that using the student self-evaluation could make the solving the classrooms' passiveness problem possible. In this point, we developed and suggested a journal writing strategic model, so called, 'comprehensive inquiry journal style in this research and verified the effectiveness of it. We expect this unique style of journal writing to do a lot for the improvement of the passiveness problem of schools.

이 연구는 학습자의 자기평가를 효과적으로 활용할 경우, 대학에서 흔히 발견되는 학생들의 수동적 수업 참여 문제 개선에 효과를 볼 수 있을 것으로 기대하고, 학습자 자기평가의 한 가지 방법인 저널쓰기를 그 구체적 전략으로 구안, 제시코자 하였다. 학습자 자기평가는 학습자 스스로 자신의 학습활동에 대해 점검하고 평가하는 행위로, 학습의 결과를 측정하는 일로 활용되기도 하지만 학습자로서 자신을 점검하고 학습활동에 의미를 부여하여 학습활동을 촉진하기도 한다. 23명의 대학생들과 함께 수행한 형성연구를 통해서 연구자는 대학 수업 참여와 관련된 요인들을, 특히 수동성을 고조 또는 저하시키는 요인에 주목하여 추출할 수 있었고, 그에 기반하여 수업 참여를 증진시키는 일과 관련된 저널쓰기 전략을 마련, 실제 대학 수업 장면에 적용함으로써 그 효과성을 검증하였다. 이 연구에서 개발된 ‘종합탐구형’ 저널쓰기 전략은 대학 수업의 참여 문제 해소에 실제적 기여를 할 것으로 기대하며, 이 연구에서 주목한 대학생의 수업 참여, 특히 수동적 참여에 대한 관심이 향후 지속적인 연구를 통해 보완 발전될 필요가 있음을 지적하였다.
