The Effect of Obesity Management Program in Serum Homocysteine Level and Intake of Folate, Vitamin B6 in Obesity Middle Aged Women
초록
영어
Obesity is an important factor of metabolic syndrome and it is known as an independent risk factor of cardiovascular disease. Hyperhomocysteinemia has been shown to be associated with increased risks for cardiovascular diseases (CVD). Through the previous studies have shown that incidence of cardiovascular diseases correlates with the serum homocysteine levels, folate and other nutrients. Therefore the aim of this study was performed to investigate the effect of serum homocysteine level, folate, vitamin B6 in obese women. The subjects of study were whose BMI is greater than 25kg/m2, 36 participants were randomly divided into 2 groups. One group was assigned Nutritional education and exercise program (NE group) and the other group was assigned the exercise program (E group) that was conducted for 3 months. We measured the dietary behaviors, homocysteine level, lipid profile of serum, body weight, body fat mass, folate, Vitamin B6 and physical activity strength etc. The result obtained were as follows: Serum homocysteine level of NE group is decreased than E group. The intake of dietary folate, and vitamin C were significantly increased NE group than E group. These results show that continuous Nutritional Education and Exercise Obesity Management Program will improve of Hyperhomocysteinemia of obese women than the only Exercise Obesity Management Program.
