Structural Analysis of Story in Game Contents : - Case Study: and Chae, Young-Soog This paper focuses on the narrative structure of game contents, especially quests. A quest is a unit of game narrative. We have a concern the characteristics of story structure, component elements, and role of story and quest to find the narrative structure of game contents. A quest is an essential to progress game play and to construct player's own narrative in MMORPG genre. We analysis two games, and , which are representative works of MMORPG genre. The elements of analysis are characters, story, quest system(including kinds of quest, types of progress), and types of reward system, and so on. The purpose of this study is to understand the game itself and the principle of the game design based on the narrative structure. Also further game will be requested the variety of contents and the development of an advanced and systematic design.
