This study aims to explore teaching methods utilizing e-learning in general education at university level. Specifically, we try to find a way in which an instructor, who is willing to introduce e-learning to general education, can easily utilize e-learning in his or her courses. In particular, considering the features of general education that many similar, or even same subjects are open and maintained, we suggest e-learning courses that many universities can utilize in collaboration with each other. As a result of examining the general education courses utilizing e-learning, various forms of teaching method can be found from teaching mainly in online space to using some contents restrictively in a face-to-face lecture room. To make it possible to successfully share these diverse e-learning contents between universities, the contents need to be developed in a segmented form from the planning stage, so that other universities can easily use it. Above all, to stimulate the communal utilization of general education between universities, not only contents producers but also contents users need to cooperate each other for the sake of quality of e-learning contents in general education.

대학 교양교육의 경우 이러닝 활용을 통한 질적 제고의 가능성을 생각해볼 필요가 있다. 이러닝의 경우 교육의 질제고 뿐만 아니라 교육 기회의 확대라는 차원에서 교양교육에 기여할 수 있는 여지가 많지만 대부분의 대학들이 교양과목에서 이러닝을 활용하지 않거나, 매우 제한적인 범위 내에서 도입하는 정도에 그치고 있다. 이러닝은 인터넷이 연결되는 한 시간과 장소에 구애받지 않고 교육이 가능하며, 자기주도적 학습이 가능한 학습자 중심 교육이 구현될 수 있다는 장점이 있어 적절하게 활용될 경우 교양교육의 질을 제고하는 촉매제가 될 수 있다. 본 연구는 교양과목에서 이러닝을 활용한 수업방법을 탐색하는데 목적이 있다. 구체적으로, 교양교육에 이러닝을 도입하고자 하는 교강사가 자신의 강좌에 손쉽게 이러닝을 활용할 수 있는 방안을 모색하였다. 특히, 동일하거나 유사 과목이 많이 개설되는 교양과목의 특성을 고려하여 이러닝 강좌를 여러 대학에서 공동으로 활용할 수 있는 방안을 제시하기 위해 습득형 활동, 수행형 활동, 연결형 활동을 수업 모형으로 제시하였다.
