A Study on the Characteristics of Dust in Classroom

This paper aim to describe the indoor air quality in school environment through the analyses of particle by XRF, particle size analyzer, and scanning electron microscopy, which were observed at some school environment, such as industrial area and rural area. The results of this study were follows. The concentration of dust measured at Miryang were 0.7794 mg/m3 in elementary school, 1.5592 mg/m3 in middle school, and 2.4988 mg/m3 in high school. Meanwhile, the concentration of dust measured at Changwon were 0.2448 mg/m3 in elementary school, 0.4488 mg/m3 in middle school, and 1.377 mg/m3 in high school, respectively. The component of dust in the classsroom by XRF analysis to identify major components showed that SiO2, CaO, Fe2O3, Al2O3, and SO3, respectively. The size distribution (less than 5 μm) of dust measured at Miryang were 59.8% in elementary school, 45.7% in middle school, and 46.2% in high school. Meanwhile, the size distribution of dust measured at Changwon were 70.2% in elementary school, 61.0% in middle school, and 67.4% in high school, respectively. Experiments by particle size analyzer showed that particle size distribution had influenced on a school location.

창원 소재한 학교내의 교실 분진농도가 밀양지역에 소재한 학교내의 교실 분진농도보다 낮게 나타났다. 분진 성분은 창원지역에 소재한 학교내 교실에서 포집된 분진은 초등학교를 제외하고 는 대체로 유리규산의 농도가 밀양지역에 소재 한 학교보다 낮게 나타났고, 또한 창원에 소재한 학교의 교실에서 호흡성 분진의 비율이 높게 나타났다.
