The purpose of this research was to examine the effects of ARCS strategy- based career experience program on motivation and career decision-making of college students. College sophomores and juniors enrolled in 'Corporate Education' classes in C women's university participated in this study. The treatment went on for 8 weeks before the survey data on motivation and career decision-making were collected. A multivariate analysis of variance on motivation showed that the experiment group achieved significantly higher scores in all four sub-factors of ARCS (attention, relevance, confidence, satisfaction) compared to the control group. Two independent t-tests on career decision-making showed that the experiment group also expressed significantly stronger career decision-making than the control group. Findings of this study suggest that use of ARCS strategies for designing career experience programs for college students is an effective way of improving students' motivation and career decision-making.

직업의 세분화와 전문화로 인한 전공 관련 진로지도의 요구가 높아지고, 이에 따른 대학생 진로체험 프로그램의 필요성이 강조되고 있다. 이 연구에서는 ARCS 전략에 따라 구현된 진로체험 프로그램이 대학생의 학습동기와 진로결정에 미치는 영향을 알아보았다. 서울시 소재 C 여자대학교 학생을 대상으로 ARCS 전략에 따른 진로체험 프로그램을 8주간 실시한 후, 이들의 학습동기와 진로결정 수준을 전통적 강의식 수업을 받은 통제집단과 비교하였다. 다변량분산분석 결과, ARCS 전략에 따른 기업교육 체험프로그램에 참여한 실험집단이 통제집단에 비해 주의집중, 관련성, 자신감, 만족감을 포함하는 학습동기와 진로결정에 대한 확신이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 대학생의 전공 관련 진로지도를 위한 ARCS 전략 적용의 필요성과 실제 현장과의 연계 방안 등에 대해 논의하였다.
