The purpose of this study is to explain what concerns physical education teachers in secondary schools have in their professions, and how to react to and solve their problems. To achieve the purpose of the study, I interviewed 6 secondary physical education teachers in Kyonggi-do to get a better understanding. also collected Further data from concerned literature and outside case studies. The date are analyzed by case record analysis and inductive categorical analysis. The appropriateness and reliability of the study is compounded by means of a multi-angle approach, specialist meetings and review by the participants. As a result of the analysis, most physical education teachers󰡑concerns were: gaining a better professional environment, more job security(confidence in promotions, etc), more trust and respect from students󰡑parents, having less conflict in professional relationships, having more free time for their personal lives and growing in personal maturity.

이 연구의 목적은 중등 체육교사의 교직생활 관심사가 무엇인가를 규명하기 위하여 체육교사들이 교직생활을 하는 데 있어 주된 초점이 어디에 있고, 가장 관심을 갖는 문제가 무엇이며, 어떻게 인식하고 풀어나가는가를 규명하는 데 있다. 이러한 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 먼저 개방형 설문지를 통해 체육교사 400명의 교직생활 관심사를 귀납적 내용분석을 실시하였으며, 보다 심층적인 이해를 돕기 위해 중등 체육교사 8명을 대상으로 인터뷰를 실시하였다. 또한 관련문서에 의하여 다양한 자료를 수집하여 질적 사례연구를 실시하였다. 수집된 자료는 전사, 부호화, 범주화, 주제화의 과정으로 이루어 졌으며, 연구의 신뢰성을 확보하기 위해 다각도 접근법, 전문가 회의, 연구 참여자의 검토 등에 의하여 제고되었고, 연구의 윤리성을 높이는 데 노력하였다. 분석결과 중등체육교사의 교직생활 관심사는 학생관심사, 수업관심사, 업무관심사, 자아관심사로 나타났다.
