The purpose of this study was to find what was inquiry subject of pedagogy of practical arts and to suggest implication of practical arts education. The methods of this study were literature review. The results of this study were as follows: The concept of “real life” was drawn as a major inquiry object of practical arts and practical arts education based on unique inquiry object criterion as one of the academic conditions. Through literature review, real life including home life was to understand real life environment and the real world was like in this study. Instead of the instrumental justification, the essential point of view was trying to justify and to understand real life were included in the goal of the practical arts education. Include real-world understanding of the core concepts will require resetting. Students through the core concepts of life improvement, life is an adaptation of the practical arts education's primary goal will be achieved. As mentioned in the introduction of this study 'is being formed answer' was meant to suggest. Since this study from many different perspectives on the follow-up study “real life” to interpret the meaning of the concept needs to be done was to studies attempting.

이 연구는 교과교육학으로서 실과교육의 탐구 대상이 무엇인지 찾고, 이에 터하여 실과교육에의 함의를 제시하는데 목적을 두고 수행되었다. 이를 위해 문헌 연구를 수행하였으며, 주요 문헌은 실과 및 실과교육의 개념, 학문적 정당성과 관련된 문헌과 실생활에 대한 개념 관련 문헌, 교과교육학의 학문적 조건 관련 문헌을 주요 대상으로 선정하여 검토하였다. 교과교육학의 학문 조건 중 독자적 탐구 대상이라는 준거에 터하여 실과 및 실과교육의 주요한 탐구 대상으로 실생활이라는 개념을 도출하였으며, 선행 연구를 통해 실생활을 가정생활을 포함한 실생활 환경 즉 실세계로 확대하여 이해하였다. 또한 도구적 정당화의 관점을 비판하고 본질론적 정당화를 시도하였는데, 이는 실과교육의 목표 범주에 실생활에서의 유용성이라는 기존의 주요 목표와 함께 실생활이라는 실과교육의 탐구 대상 자체에 대한 이해, 실생활을 보는 안목의 형성을 포함시킬 필요가 있었다. 실생활에 대한 이해를 포함시켜 재설정한 중핵개념이 요구되며, 중핵개념을 통해 학생들은 생활의 개선, 생활에의 적응이라는 실과교육의 기본 목표와 함께 실세계가 어떻게 구성되고 이루어지는지에 대한 이해를 도모할 수 있을 것이다.
