This study examined maladaptive perfectionism as a mediator between maternal attachment and depression and anxiety. Research participants were 299 middle school and high school students in near seoul and Kyonggi province. Instruments used in the study were IPPA-R(Armsden et al, 1990), The center for Epidemiological Studies - Depression(1998), Revised Childeren's Manifest Anxiety Scale : RCMAS). And hierarchical regression analysis was suggested by Baron & Kenny(1986) was implemented to understand the mediation effect of maladaptive perfectionism among maternal attachment ,depression and anxiety. The result indicated the significant negative correlation between maternal attachment and anxiety and depression. And we found a significant positive correlation maladaptive perfectionism and depression and anxiety. Finally, the result of hierarchical regression analysis and Sobel test suggested that maladative perfectionism partially mediated the relationspip between maternal attachment and depression and fully mediated the relationship between maternal attachment and anxiety. The implications and limitations of this study were discussed.

본 연구는 모애착, 부적응적 완벽주의가 우울, 불안과 어떤 관계가 있는지 알아보고 부적응적 완벽주의가 둘의 관계를 매개하는지를 검증해봄으로써 부적응적 완벽주의로 부적응을 겪고 있는 청소년들에게 도움을 줄 수 있는 방법을 모색하고자 하는데 목적이 있다. 연구의 대상자들은 경기도에 위치한 중, 고등학교에 재학중인 학생들 299명이었다. 모애착, 부적응적 완벽주의, 우울, 불안, 각 변인간의 상관계수를 산출하여 관련성을 알아보았고, 부적응적 완벽주의가 모애착, 우울, 불안간의 관계를 매개하는지를 알아보기 위하여 Baron 과 Kenny(1986) 방식을 적용하였다.
연구 결과, 모애착은 우울, 불안과 부적 상관을 보였고, 부적응적 완벽주의는 우울, 불안과 정적 상관을 보였다. 또, 모애착은 부적응적 완벽주의와 부적 상관을 보였다. 부적응적 완벽주의가 모애착과 불안간의 관계를 완전매개하고, 우울간의 관계를 부분매개하는 것으로 나타나 우울, 불안을 줄이도록 개입하는데 부적응적 완벽주의를 다루는 것이 중요함이 밝혀졌다. 끝으로 연구결과의 제한점과 후속연구의 제언을 덧붙였다.
