The main purpose of this study is looking for the teacher's attitude of Socrates through the dialogue in Gorgias which are consists of dialogues between Socrates and Gorgias, Socrates and Polus, Socrates and Callicles.
The first argument between Socrates and Gorgias is to show that the rhetoric must have the knowledge of right and wrong. And then we focus on the way that the rhetoric, a kind of flattery, be the expertise through the dialogue between Socrates and Polus. Finally, it is turned out the purpose of the rhetoric is making the fellow citizens a better people through the dialogue between Socrates and Callicles.
In conclusion, we looking for the attitude of Socrates differentiated it from the rhetorician and then discuss the teacher's attitude. That is the teacher have to possess the passion of the knowledge and the purpose of teaching is internal change of one person.

본 연구의 목적은 「고르기아스」에 나타난 소크라테스와 고르기아스, 폴로스, 칼리클레스의 대화를 통해 드러난 소크라테스의 교사의 자세를 탐색하는데 있다.
본 연구에서는 먼저 「고르기아스」에 나타난 소크라테스와 고르기아스의 대화를 통해 변론술이란 옳고 그름에 대한 지식을 수반해야 함을 밝히고, 소크라테스와 폴로스의 대화를 통해 아첨술의 일종인 변론술이 전문적인 기술이 되기 위한 요건을 살펴보았다. 이어지는 소크라테스와 칼리클레스의 대화를 통해 변론술의 목적은 사람의 영혼을 이전보다 더 훌륭하게 만드는 것임을 확인하였다.
다음으로 고르기아스, 폴로스, 칼리클레스가 지닌 변론가의 자세와 대비되는 철학자로서의 소크라테스의 자세를 탐색하고, 이를 바탕으로 교사의 자세를 논의하였다. 이는 가르치는 자가 반드시 지녀야 하는 앎에 대한 열정의 자세이며, 가르침의 목적을 한 사람의 내면적인 변화 즉, 삶의 자세의 변화에 두는 것이라 할 수 있다.
