The paper suggests teamwork for translation for more integrated and holistic approach in translating. The focus of the curriculum of most translation and interpretation graduate schools in Korea has been on individual work rather on team approach. The market for translating and interpreting has been going through so rapid evolution and diversification, which requires adaptability from translators or interpreters. Translating or interpreting is not just about language fluency. The translator needs to be trained to be able to handle the translation at hand as an organism which has its function in the polysystem of the given society at the given time. Translation requires far more than the linguistic or transcoding abilities of an individual translator. The published books translated into Korean from English have been studied and found to be lacking most in preserving the linguistic register of the source text. The Korean translation market needs the strategic and holistic perspectives in dealing with the translation. The whole process of translating encompasses initiation, negotiation, and revision as well. The translator also needs to be a strategist. The process involved is too complex to be competently handled by an individual translator. Therefore, translating team needs to work together to make the translation the most appropriate for the purpose. The school curriculum also needs to motivate the students to have the holistic view whenever they are faced with the translating job.
