Organizational citizenship behavior(OCB) is defined as certain patterns of behaviors in the workplace that are beneficial to organization, discretionary, non-formally prescribed, nor reward-motivated, and voluntary in nature. The purpose of this study is to empirically ascertain the relationship between teachers' OCB level and school principals leadership behavior. From metropolitan areas, 789 teachers and 417 school principals participated in OCB and leadership survey. Survey results showed that first, there are significant positive correlations between perceived OCB level and school leadership behaviors. Second, the study showed that different leadership style did influence on at least 2 components of teachers' OCB. Third, school principals' perceived significant positive correlations between school leadership behaviors and teachers; OCB level. This study confirmed that there are significant relationships between teachers' OCB level and school principals' ledership behavior. A number of recommendations were proposed including the strengthening of teacher development and in-service training with OCB curriculum.

조직시민행동(OCB:Organizational Citizenship Behavior)이란 공식적 역할 외 행동의 관점에서 명시적, 직접적으로 공식적 보상을 받지 않으면서도 조직의 기능을 총체적으로 촉진하는 개인의 자발적, 자유재량적 행동으로 정의된다. 본 연구의 목적은 교원OCB 수준과 학교장의 리더십 행동유형간의 관계구조를 실증적으로 확인하는 것에 있었다. 이를 위하여 수도권 초중등학교 교원 789명과 학교장 417명을 대상으로 OCB와 리더십 행동에 관한 설문조사를 실시한 결과 교원의 OCB 요소별 인식도와 학교장의 리더십 행동 간에 유의한 정적 상관관계가 있음을 확인할 수 있었으며 리더십 유형의 차이가 교원OCB에 영향을 주는 가에 대한 분석 결과 OCB 요소 중 2개에서 리더십 유형차이가 의미있음을 발견하였다. 끝으로 학교장이 인식한 리더십 행동과 교원의 OCB인식도 간에도 관계지향적 차원과 과업지향적 차원 모두에서 교원의 OCB 요소와 유의한 정적 상관관계를 보여주고 있음을 확인하였다. 본 연구의 결과 교원의 OCB 수준은 학교리더십 변수와 연계되어 있음을 알 수 있었다.
