This study is based on the theoretical basis that the story mapping activity, which utilizes visual feedbacks for autistic children who have a weak story contents comprehending and recalling ability, is useful to improve the both ability. The purpose of this study is to examine the changing aspects of comprehending and recalling ability when visualized story contents through story map.
This study used the multiple baseline across subjects design to examine three autistic children. The experiments included baseline test, model phase, lead phase, independent practice phase and maintenance test in a row. Story contents comprehension test and recalling test were performed in this study. Comprehension test used question sheets to examine how well the examinee comprehend the story content, and recalling test first voice-recorded the phrases, sentences and content elements and counted each one.
Story telling with the story mapping activity provided visual feedbacks to autistic children, which enables them to utilize the story map, and the results were as follows : First, story mapping activity improved the comprehending ability of the autistic children.
Second, story mapping activity improved the recalling ability of the autistic children.
In next study, a study with more examinee and more sophisticated structures will help to generalize this study. And there also will be a need for a following study which examines the qualitative aspects of comprehending ability of autistic children.

본 연구의 목적은 시각적 단서를 활용하는 것이 자폐성 장애아동의 이해력 향상에 도움이 된다는 이론적인 근거를 토대로 스토리 맵을 활용한 동화 읽기가 자폐성 장애아동의 회상능력 향상에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 알아보는데 있다. 본 연구의 대상 아동은 자폐성 장애아동 3명이며, 이들 중 2명은 일반초등학교 1학년에, 1명은 취학유예 후 유치원에 각각 재학 중이다. 연구 설계는 대상자간 중다기초선 설계로 기초선, 중재, 유지 단계로 이루어졌다. 중재 프로그램은 20회기로 구성된 스토리 맵을 활용한 동화 읽기 자료를 활용하였다. 중재 단계는 모델링, 안내, 독립 연습수준으로 구성하여 실시하였다. 본 연구의 결과 스토리 맵을 통한 읽기는 자폐성 장애아동의 회상 능력 향상에 효과적인 것으로 나타났다.
