In this study I explore the connection of the moral education and the community inquiry and hold that the multidimensional thinking to be developed through the community of inquiry is appropriate to achieve the purpose of moral subject and then search for the evaluation method to attain the purpose effectively.
For this purpose I hold that the critical, creative and caring thinking that the community of inquiry seeks to cultivate have correlation with integrated education of reason, emotion, and will, or integration of ethics of justice and care, and that the activity of community inquiry contributive to the cultivation of such thinking abilities has some significance to the moral education.
I propose the procedure of the moral inquiry which can promote such thinking and then draw factors for evaluation from the procedure. Finallly I show some multiple-choice inquiry questionaires and exemplify possible mistakes in developing them and know-hows of evaluation of discussion activity and essay writing.

본 연구의 목적은 도덕과 교육과 탐구공동체와의 연관성을 밝힌 다음, 탐구공동체를 통해 함양하고자 하는 다차원적 사고가 도덕과 교육의 목표를 달성하는 데 적합하다는 것을 주장하고, 그러한 목표를 효과적으로 달성하기 위한 평가 방안을 모색하는 데 있다.
이를 위해 탐구공동체에서 추구하는 비판적, 창의적, 배려적 사고가 도덕과 교육에서 추구하는 도덕성의 세 요소인 지․정․행 또는 지․정․의의 통합적인 교육 또는 정의 윤리와 배려 윤리의 균형적인 교육과 어떤 관련성이 있고 그러한 능력을 배양할 수 있는 탐구공동체 활동이 그것이 도덕과 수업에 어떤 의의가 있는지를 밝혔다.
이어서 그러한 사고력을 길러줄 수 있는 도덕적 탐구절차를 제시하고, 그에 따른 평가요소를 추출하였다. 마지막으로 그러한 사고력을 길러주기 위해 선다형 탐구식 평가문항을 개발할 때의 유의사항을 설명하고 예시하였으며, 수행평가로 토론평가와 논술평가의 요령과 유의사항을 설명하였다.
