The present study was conducted to examine the relationship between cognitive triad and symptoms of depression and anxiety in children. 532 children(297 boys, 235 girls) in 5th and 6th grade completed measures including CTI-C, CDI and RCMAS. Results of multiple regression analyses revealed that cognitive triad was significantly related with depression and anxiety in both boys and girls. Specifically, views about self, world and future predicted boys' depression, whereas views about self and world predicted girls' depression. Anxiety was predicted by views about self and world in both gende groups. Views about world was the strongest predictor of anxiety in both boys and girls. Results of stepwise discriminant analysis indicated that 66.3% of the children were accurately classified based on CTI-C alone, suggesting that cognitive triad can be a useful tool in discriminating depression and anxiety in children.

본 연구는 Beck의 인지모델에 기초하여 인지삼제가 아동이 경험하는 우울 및 불안 증상과 어떤 관련성을 갖고 있는지, 그리고 아동기 우울과 불안 증상을 얼마나 잘 변별해 주는지 알아보기 위해 수행되었다. 연구를 위해 초등학교 5, 6학년 학생 532명(남 297명, 여 235명)을 대상으로 아동용 인지삼제척도(CTI-C)와 아동용 우울평가척도(CDI), 그리고 아동용 불안검사(RCMAS)를 실시하였다. 분석 결과, 남녀 학생 모두 우울과 불안 수준이 자신과 세계, 그리고 미래에 대한 부정적 인지와 정적 상관관계를 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 우울에 대한 인지삼제 하위척도의 기여도는 아동의 성별에 따라 차이가 있었는데, 남학생 집단에서는 자기, 세계, 미래 변인이 모두 유의하였으나 여학생 집단에서는 자기와 세계변인만이 우울을 유의하게 예측해 주었다. 불안에 대한 인지삼제 하위척도의 영향에서는 성별에 관계없이 자기와 세계변인만이 불안을 유의하게 예측해주었으며, 세계변인이 자기변인보다 더 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 판별분석을 실시한 결과 인지삼제는 전체 아동의 66.3%,(우울집단 67.8%, 불안집단 64.4%)를 정확히 분류해주는 것으로 밝혀졌으며, 자기변인의 판별력이 상대적으로 가장 큰 것으로 나타났다.
