The purpose of this study is to investigate the educational meaning of research about image.
Although Image is formed by intuitive and sensuous subjectivity, it has the power to restrict people's behavior because it is reasonable and true for people who has it. Image is also subjective knowledge and has the attribute of personality, but there exist public image in the same group because human can share it through the conversation. Image is created, expanded, modified, and disappeared under the influence of correlation between the message from outside and individual who experience it. Study of image allowed people to keep high level of life because human try to know and develope themselves through the understanding of real oneself and ideal oneself
Up to now, we have investigated on issue which the study of image cast on education First, through the study of image, we can understand how children accept the world. Second, through this study, we can stimulate children to develop. Third, uncertainty of image can change the consciousness and attitude of the education interested and make point of a view of a education to advance
Based on these issues, If we study the image that children have, we will able to understand the private and unique world of children and set up a educational guide for them.

본 연구의 목적은 이미지 연구의 교육적 의미를 밝히는 데 있다.
이미지는 직관적이고 감각적인 주관에 의해서 형성되는 것이지만 그것을 보유한 개인에게 있어서는 타당성과 진실을 지니고 있기 때문에 행동을 구속하는 힘이 있다. 개인이 보유한 이미지는 담화를 통해 공유되기 때문에 동일 집단에서는 공적 이미지가 존재한다. 이미지는 외부에서 주어지는 메시지와 그것을 체험하는 개인의 상호작용으로 생성, 수정, 소멸, 성장한다. 인간은 현실적 자기와 이상적 자기를 인식하여 자신을 발전시키려 하기 때문에 이미지 연구는 인간이 보다 상위의 삶을 영위할 수 있도록 한다.
이상의 논의를 통해 이미지 연구가 교육에 어떠한 시사점을 주는지에 대해 알아보았다. 첫째, 이미지 연구를 통해 아동이 세상을 받아들이는 틀을 이해할 수 있다. 둘째, 이미지 연구를 통해 아동의 성장을 유도할 수 있다. 셋째, 이미지의 불확실성은 교육 관련자들의 인식과 태도를 변화시키게 하고, 교육의 시점을 미래로 돌릴 수 있도록 한다. 아동들이 가지고 있는 이미지를 연구한다면 아동의 내밀하고도 독특한 세계를 이해하고 그들을 위한 교육적 지침을 세울 수 있으리라 기대된다.
