This study aimed to examine how teachers' perceptions of students and parents characteristics are associated with teacher efficacy. 300 elementary school teachers in service participated in the survey of the study, and 270 of them were included in the data analyses. The study developed scales to measure teachers' perceptions of students and parents characteristics and performed factor analyses to identify factorial structure of those scales. Three factors that consist of academic, behavioral, and personal factors were extracted from scales of teachers' perceptions of students characteristics and two factors that consist of supports for teachers and supports for children were extracted from scales of teachers' perceptions of parents characteristics. A series of hierarchical multiple regression analyses were used to test the effects of teachers' perceptions of students and parents characteristics in exp hining the variance of the two dimensions of teacher efficacy(GTE; general teaching efficacy and PTE; personal teacher efficacy). The level of parents' support for teachers was positively associated with the levels of both GTE and PTE. However, teachers' perceptions of parents' supports for children were not significantly related with GTE, but negatively related with PTE. The only factor, academic factor of three factors of students' characteristics, was positively related with PTE, but not significantly related with GTE. All other two factors of students' characteristics were not significantly related with both GTE and PTE. These findings were discussed in terms of teacher education.

본 연구는 학생 및 학부모의 특성에 대한 초등학교 교사의 지각이 교사효능감과 어떠한 방식으로 어느 정도의 관련성을 지는지를 탐색할 목적에서 시도되었다. 특히 본 연구가 주목한 것은 학생 및 학부모의 특성에 대한 교사의 지각 요인들이 교사효능감에 일관된 효과를 보일 것인지에 관한 것이었다. 초등학교에 재직 중인 교사 300여명을 대상으로 질문지 조사를 통해 자료를 수집하였으며, 표집은 성별과 소재지의 특성을 고려하여 가급적 각 집단별로 균등하게 하였다. 회수된 질문지중 누락된 반응이 많거나 일방적인 응답 등 불성실한 응답사례를 제외하고 분석에 포함된 사례는 총 270명이었다. 본 연구에서 개발한 학생 및 학부모의 특성에 대한 교사의 지각 척도의 요인구조를 확인하기 위하여 탐색적 요인분석을 실시한 결과, 학생의 특성에 대한 교사의 지각은 3요인(품성, 학업, 품행)으로 구성되고, 학부모의 특성에 대한 교사의 지각은 2요인(자녀지원, 교사지원)구조를 가지는 것으로 확인되었다. 그리고 이 요인들이 교사효능감의 두 차원(개인적 교사효능감, 일반적 교수효능감)을 설명하는 효과들이 일련의 중다회귀분석을 통하여 분석되었다. 학부모의 특성요인 중 교사지원요인은 개인적 교사효능감과 일반적 교수효능감 모두에 걸쳐 정적으로 관련되었지만 학부모의 자녀지원 요인은 개인적 교사효능감에는 부적으로 관련되었고 일반적 교수효능감과는 관련성을 가지지 않았다. 그리고 학생의 특성 지각 요인 중 학업적 특성요인은 개인적 교사효능감과는 정적으로 관련되었지만, 일반적 교수효능감과는 관련성을 보이지 않았다. 나머지 학생의 특성지각의 두 요인(학생 품성과 품행)은 교사효능감의 두 차원과 관련성을 보이지 않았다. 이 연구결과들이 교사교육과 한국 교육의 실제에 시사 하는바가 논의되었다.
