The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of service-learning on teacher efficacy and academic adjustment for female prospective teachers. 79 female prospective teachers participated in this study. This study was conducted using a pre-test, two middle-tests, and a post-test designed for an experimental group and a control group. Multi-level analysis using the growth model was conducted to analyze the effect of service-learning. The result of this study showed that the growth rate of task difficulty preference and academic adjustment of the experimental group grew higher than that of the control group while there was no significant difference in the growth rate of self-confidence and self-regulatory efficacy between experimental and control groups. These results indicate that service-learning might positively affect students' academic adjustment and teacher efficacy, especially regarding challenging difficult tasks.

본 연구의 목적은 봉사-학습이 예비 여교사들의 교사효능감과 학업적응에 미치는 효과를 검증하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 79명의 예비 여교사를 통제집단(봉사-학습 참여하지 못한 집단)과 실험집단(봉사-학습 참여 집단)으로 나누고, 교사효능감 척도와 학업적응 척도를 4회에 걸쳐 실시하였다. 다층성장모형을 통해 분석한 결과에 따르면, 봉사-학습에 참여한 예비 여교사들은 봉사-학습에 참여하지 못한 예비 여교사들보다 지속적으로 더 도전적이고 어려운 과제를 선호하였고 학업에 더 잘 적응하였다. 반면, 봉사-학습에 참여한 학생들의 자신감과 자기조절효능감은 봉사-학습에 참여하지 않은 학생들에 비해 유의하게 높아지지 않았다. 따라서 봉사-학습은 예비 여교사들의 도전적인 성향을 개발시켜줌으로써 교사효능감 향상에 부분적으로 기여하고 학업적응도를 향상시켜 주므로, 교사교육에 봉사-학습의 적극적인 활용을 요청하는 바이다.
