Enhancement of Ulva pertusa kjellman by Extreme Extraction process

It was performed to investigate the enhancement of immuno -modulatary activities and antioxidant of Ulva pertusa kjellmann by extreme process: ultra high pressure(150atm) and high temperature(180℃). The best immune cell growth of human B and T cell was observed adding the extracts at 150atm and 180℃, compare to the extracts for conventional extraction(100℃ water extraction). : 14.5 × 104 cells/㎖ vs 10.2 × 104 cells/㎖ for extreme extraction and water extraction, respectively.
The antioxidant activities like DPPH radical test and superoxide radical test was also observed with the extracts from ultra high pressure and high temperature extraction. : 85.75% vs 76.25% for extreme extraction and water extraction, respectively.
It was found that the extreme techniques showed higher extraction yield and secretion of bioactive compounds. The ultra high pressure and high temperature extraction technique could be used to develop a new functional materials.
