Influence of Oxygen Supplement in Bacterial Cellulose Production Culture at 50 L Air Circulation Bioreactor

초록

영어

Bacterial cellulose(BC) was mass produced in saccharified food wastes(SFW) medium with addition 0.4% agar at aeration condition of 30 L/min using 50 L air circulation bioreactor. When 30 L/min of air with no pure oxygen was supplied, 5.64 g/L of BC was produced after 3 days cultivation. And, when pure oxygen was supplied into the optimized culture conditions, 6.79 g/L of BC was produced. So, 12% of BC productivity was improved than that of culture
with no pure oxygen. Oxygen uptake rate(OUR) and specific respiration rate ( q O 2 ) in the culture were 0.35 mg DO/L․min and 0.42 mg DO/g cell․min after 13 hours cultivation, respectively. In conclusion, addition of pure oxygen to SFW medium favorably improved BC productivity.
