Anaerobic Co-digestion of Bacterial Cellulose Remnants with Saccharified Solids

초록

영어

Anaerobic co-digestion is a well established process for treating many types of organic wastes, both solid and liquid. The aim of this study was targeted to minimize contents of organic material and to obtain more energy by increasing OLR during anaerobic co-digestion of bacterial cellulose remnants (BCR) with saccharified solids (SS) in two phase UASB reactor at mesophilic temperature. The working volume of first hydrolysis fermentor was 35 L(total 55 L) and the
second methane fermentor was 40 L (total 50 L). The mixture substrates of BCR and SS(weight ratio of the BCR and SS was 1:1 based on wet solid) were fed into hydrolysis fermentor at an organic loading rate (OLR) 3, 4, 6 g-VS/ L․day. At this time the OLR of methane fermentor was 28,600, 30,004, 35,000 mg-COD/L․day and TCOD removal efficiency was 90.5, 91.5, 91.0%
respectively. It was indicated that the maximum TCOD removal effieiency (91.5%) was achieved at OLR of 4 g-VS/L․day. Thus, for minimizing contents of organic wastes, it was considered that the OLR of 4 g-VS/L․day was a most appropriate condition in anaerobic digestion using mixture substrates of BCR and SS 1:1(w/w).
