Isolation of useful microorganisms from earthworm and their biodegradation of fish wastes

To utilize fish wastes, useful microorganisms were isolated from earthworm and characterized their biodegradation. Ten microorganisms were isolated and observed ability of proteolysis and halophilic degradation. Five species showed strong proteolytic ability. They could grow on 1% salt, but only one species showed its growth on a 3.5% salt medium. The experiment of biodegradation showed that parts of fish, such as viscera and fin were well degraded by the
isolated microorganisms.
