An important potential biodegradation of fish cake by useful microorganisms is to increase the value of product. The biodegradation results in low-molecular, stable substances in fish cake, which are used as a feed for animal and a fertilizer for plant. Experiments showed that the concentrations of CODCr and TN decreased by 4,961 and 1,098 ppm, respectively with disappearance of fishy odor after 6 days of biodegradation by the isolated twelve microorganisms.
