Development of Antimicrobial Agents Using the Cell Organelles Isolated from Hen's Eggs

초록

영어

This study investigated the antimicrobial activities of lysosomes as a cell organelles aginst tested microorganisms. The observed antimicrobial activity was positively correlated with different lysosomes type. Lysosomes are safe biological control agents as possible replacements for the chemical antimicrobial agents, because lysosomes are isolated from eukaryote cells. In this study, we found that the optimal activity of lysosome participates in pH 6.0, 20% concentration and broad range temperature and the lysosomal activity has shown aging dependent, pH dependent and host dependent intraorganelle killing. The efficiency of this lysosome in terms of inhibition of bacterial growth and bacterial activity was evaluated during a 12-hour treatment period. Growth was assessed by determination of colony forming units (CFU) of bacteria which allowed us also to determine the extent of bacterial growth. A similar treatment was applied to the same bacterial strains growing in lysosome treated solid medium. And the
observed antimicrobial activity was positively correlated with different pH conditions of solvents. Therefore, we suggest that these highly effective lysosomes have a bright future in modern agriculture or clinical application as a biopesticides functioned with antimicrobial activity.
