For effective management of atopic dermatitis, it is important to find a potent therapeutic agent
has the greatest anti- inflammatory effect. This work was carried out to investigate the antiinflammatory effect of Houttuynia cordata Thunberg using in vitro experiment. The extract
inhibited the generation of NO induced by LPS in the macrophage cell line (raw 264.7). Consistent
with the inhibitory effect on NO generation, the extract inhibited expression of iNOS, COX2, and
NF-Kb as demonstrated by proteome analysis. Thus, the present study suggests that Houttuynia
cordata Thunberg extract have significant anti–inflammatory activity and potential as an antiirritation material.
