Optimization of culture conditions for 1,3-propanediol production from glycerol by Klebsiella pneumoniae ATCC 700721

초록

영어

Klebsiella pneumoniae is one of the several well-known microorganisms, for increasing production of 1,3-propanediol. The aim of this study was to investigate the optimal conditions for 1,3-propanediol production from glycerol by Klebsiella pneumoniae ATCC 700721. The fermentation conditions such as substrate (glycerol) concentration, nitrogen source [(NH4)2SO4] concentration, pH and temperature were optimized. The obtained optimal conditions were as
follows: substrate concentration, 20 g/L; nitrogen source concentration, 9 g/L; pH, 8 and temperature, 37 oC. Under the optimal condition, 7 g/L of 1,3-propanediol was produced from 20 g/L of glycerol in 10 hours.
