The inhibitory effect of Centella asiatica and Plantago asiatica extract mixture on Human Mast cells (HMC-1) Activation

초록

영어

Mast cells are so widely recognized as critical effecter cells for allergic disorders and other Immunogloblin(Ig)E-associated acquired immune responses.(1,2) In addtion, Mast cells (MCs) play an essential role in an allergic inflammation, including asthma, atopic dermatitis and allergic rhinitis.(3,4) This study was designed to evaluate whether the Centella asiatica and Plantago asiatica water extracts mixture (CPM) could modulate the production of pro-inflammatory
cytokines and their mechanism in phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate(PMA) plus calcium inopore A23187 treated human mast cell line, HMC-1, to prevent on inflammatory response. CPM inhibited the inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α, IL-6 and IL-8 stimulated by PMA pus A23187 from the HMC-1 cells. In addition, CPM did not significantly affect the cell viability and had no toxicity on the HMC-1 cells. Based on these results, CPM can be used for
treatment of an allergic inflammation response.
