Inhibitory effect of xanthine oxidase and acetylcholinesterase of Alnus sp.

초록

영어

In this study, we report the results from studies evaluating the xanthine oxidase, tyrosinase inhibitory activity and acetylcholinesterase inhibitory activity of the n-hexane (HX) fraction, Dichloromethane (DCM) fraction, ethylacetate (EA) fraction and methanol extracts from Alnus sp. The EA and DCM extract of Alnus sp. showed the highest acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibitory activity. The results showed that more than 51% and 56% of AChE are activity were inhibited by the EA and DCM fractions of Alnus sp. at concentration of 1.5 mg/ml, respectively. About 90% and 91.2% of xanthine oxidase and tyrosinase inhibitory activity were inhibited by the EA fraction at 0.75 mg/ml. These finding may contribute to biological significance in that AChE and
xanthine oxidase inhibitor has been used as a drug for the symptomatic treatment of Alzheimer's disease.
