In A Study on the Original Text of Ku-un-mong(九雲夢 原典의 硏究) published in 1977, I proposed the theory of the original text of "Ku-un-mong" written in Chinese and my proposal have been supported by many scholars. Nowadays, however, some scholars propose the theory of the original text written in Korean. So I am going to emphasize the theory of the original text written in Chinese and present some comments on this subject.1. In Korean Grand Encyclopedia published by The Academy of Korean Studies(韓國精神文化硏究院) in 1988, I wrote three articles on 'Kim, Man-jung(金萬重)' 'Seopomanpil(西浦漫筆)' and 'Ku-un-mong(九雲夢)'. But, on the contrary to my opinion, the original text was explained to be written in Korean in this encyclopedia. Chapter 1 is to put the mistake straight. And now, in Korean Grand Encyclopedia which was served on web site, this mistake was corrected.2. Chapter 2 is to refute the argument of Dr. Bouchez and Dr. Chi, Yeonsook that Nojon B edition(老尊B本) is a Chinese version of S.N.U. edition.3. Chapter 3 is the principal evidence to refute the argument of Dr. Bouchez and Dr. Chi, Yeonsook.4. Chapter 4 is to correct the error in Prof. Chun, Seongun's A Comparative Study of Korean-Chinese Stories(한중소설 대비의 지평).5. A few years ago, Prof. Chang, Hyohyoun presented the argument that James S. Gale translated a Chinese version into English. Chapter 5 is to present three arguments of Gale's translation - First, Chinese versions used by Gale were Gyehae(癸亥), Eulsa(乙巳) and Nojon(老尊) edition. Second, Nojon edition was the principal in three Chinese versions. Third, Gale referred to the interrelated Yi, Gawon(李家源) edition.

본고는 필자가 정년 이후 <구운몽>에 대한 보완연구를 진행하면서 부딪친 몇가지 문제를 밝히기 위해 작성되었다. 1977년, 필자는 󰡔구운몽 원전의 연구󰡕를 출간하고 ‘한문본설’을 제시하여 학계의 폭넓은 지지를 받아왔다. 그런데 근래에 필자의 학설에 대한 이견과 비판이 나오면서 ‘국문본 원작설’이 대두되고 있다. 이에 필자는 ‘한문본설’을 거듭 확립하고, 기타 문제에 대해서도 필자의 의견을 제시하고자 한다. 제1항 ‘한국민족문화대백과사전｝권4의 김만중 항에 대한 기의’는 필자에 의해 유지된 구운몽 ‘한문본설’원작설과 배치되는 ‘국문본설’이 당시 정신문화연구원의 편집자들의 실수보다는 고의로 이루어진 것으로 보고, 이를 시정하기 위해 작성한 것이다. 제2항 ‘老尊B본의 大覺 장면에 대하여’는 부셰 박사와 지연숙 박사가 老尊B본을 서울대학본의 번역본으로 보는 가설을 근원적으로 불식시키기 위한 것이다. 제3항 ‘老尊B본의 皇太后 七步詩 評釋文’은 기왕에 주장된 부셰․지연숙 박사가 제시한 ‘서울대학본 원전’설을 부정하기 위한 주요 논거이다. 제4항 ‘전성운의 󰡔한중소설 대비의 지평󰡕에 대하여’는 구운몽 연구사가 잘못 정리된 것을 바로 잡기 위한 것이다. 마지막으로 제5항 ‘Gale의 九雲夢 英譯本에 대하여’는 장효현 교수에 의해 九雲夢 英譯本의 텍스트는 한문본이라는 의견이 제기된 데 대하여 한문본 癸亥本․乙巳本․老尊本 중 乙巳本이 위주가 되고, 국문본 李家源本계도 함께 참고가 되면서 이루어졌다는 것을 밝히기 위한 것이다.
