The purpose of this paper is to integrate the function of church and to present a plan for a church that is an eschatological salvation community to be a healthy church God wants. In this respect, the purpose of the research can be summarized as follows. Firstly, as a pre-step of studying the integration of the function of church, the study aims at helping to understand the church theologically. Secondly, in integrating the function of church, the author wants to help understand what the function of church is. By examining the function of church, this paper studied how to integrate the function of church for mutual dependence. Thirdly, the purpose of the research is to advocate the need of integrating the function of church. The function of church is indispensable for a church to develop healthily. Therefore, the churches should try to integrate the function so that the effect may be maximized in the mutual relations. This paper consists of six chapters including the introduction, chapter 1. Chapter 2 is composed of the theological understanding of church. The focused content is that a church is an eschatological salvation community God governs and that a church is Christ’s body. In chapter 3, the author examined the functions of church ; worship( ), kerygma( ), instruction( ), koinonia( ), diakonia( ) and studied how they functioned at the age of Christ and in the early church. In chapter 4, as a conclusion, the author summarized the contents from chapter 2 to chapter 3 recalling the concept of this paper, ie, reinforcing and integrating the function of church and presented a plan for the Korean churches to be healthy. Based on the study, the author would like to make some suggestions for the Korean churches to serve for the Kingdom of God. Firstly, to be a healthy church by integration the function of church, the model should be found in the Bible. Secondly, the church members should know through instruction what the function of church is. Thirdly, the function of church can’t be possessed by some special church members. Therefore, all the church members should be educated to recognize the function of church and trained to practise the function of church. Fourthly, in activating the function of church, the author suggests that the function of church may be applied flexibly in the range of the basic principle. Fifthly, to maximize the effect of the function of church, the church should be systematized. Finally, the author suggests that the small groups in the church should be activated. A church and the sense of community are indispensable as the meaning of existence of a church is largely lost without the conception of community.

본 논문에서 목적하는 바는, 교회의 기능을 통합적 차원으로 구조화함으로 종말론적 구원공동체로서의 교회를 하나님께서 원하시는 건강한 모습으로 세워 나가는 방안을 제시하기 위한 것이다. 이러한 관점에서 본 논문의 연구목적을 다음과 같이 요약할 수 있다. 첫째, 교회 기능의 구조화에 관한 연구의 전 단계로, 교회에 대한 신학적 이해를 돕는데 그 목적이 있다. 둘째, 교회의 기능을 구조화하는데 있어, 교회의 기능이 무엇인지에 대한 이해를 돕는데 그 목적이 있다. 셋째, 교회 기능을 구조화하는 것의 필요성을 주창(主唱)함에 그 목적이 있다. 넷째, 한국교회가 건강한 모습으로 성장할 수 있는 대안을 제시하는데 그 목적이 있다. 필자는 이제까지의 연구에 근거하여 한국교회가 하나님 나라를 위해 봉사하는 교회로 세워지기 위해 필요한 몇 가지 제안을 하고자 한다. 첫째, 교회의 기능을 구조화함으로 건강한 교회를 추구함에 있어, 그 모델은 인위적이 아닌 성경에서 찾아야 한다. 둘째, 성도들로 하여금 교회의 기능이 무엇인지를 교육할 것을 제안한다. 셋째, 교회의 기능은 교회의 어떤 특정한 사람들만이 행하는 전유물이 아니다. 따라서 공동체에 속한 모든 구성원들이 교회의 기능을 인식하도록 교육하는 일과 더불어 성도들 모두가 교회의 기능 전체를 수행할 수 있도록 훈련할 것을 제안한다. 넷째, 교회의 기능을 활성화시킴에 있어 원칙에 충실하되, 기본적인 원칙에 벗어나지 않는 범위 안에서 그 기능을 탄력적으로 운용할 것을 제안한다. 다섯째, 교회의 기능 효과를 극대화하기 위하여, 교회를 시스템화할 것을 제안한다. 마지막으로, 교회 내에 소그룹을 활성화할 것을 제안한다. 교회와 공동체성은 불가분의 관계이다. 교회가 공동체라는 개념을 떠나서는 존재의 의미가 상당 부분 상실될 수밖에 없기 때문이다.
