The United States’ Council on Competitiveness published a report titled “Innovate
America (2004)” (hereinafter the “New Report”). The New Report consists of three
main pillars for future competitiveness: talent, investment, and infrastructure. This
paper focuses specifically on driving forward with Business‐Academia‐Government
Collaboration of Japanese Innovation Strategy, and is divided to the following three parts:
■Infrastructure/Business Academia Government Collaboration: Tracing the History of
Japanese Innovation Strategy
■Search of Managing Strategic Innovation in Japan: Driving Forward with Business Academia Government Collaboration
■Conclusion and Discussion.
