The target of this paper is to reveal Song Siyol's world of Confucian truth which was supporting his theories about Confucian proprieties. According to this research, this world of truth could not be away from the socio-cultural context of Chosun Dynasty with Neo-Confucianism, and was dependent upon his integrated scientific system which was converging principle learning, mind learning and learning of Confucian proprieties. Viewpoints of this paper are two; the one is a
constructive realism, that explains constructed reality depending on the socio-cultural context, and the other is first-person methodology that counts experience of the whole existence(mind-body integrated) as a core of scholar's academical activities.
What is explained from these viewpoints is that his theories of Confucian proprieties emerged itself coping with its socio-cultural context, learning of the Way and loyalty in revenge for Sinocentrism and that his all efforts were for reconstruction or reproduction of Sinocentric socio-cultural context in the land of Chosun. Therefore two questions are available for the research: what is the relation between his Confucian logic and theories of Confucian proprieties? And
what is the reactions of other scholars and results to his efforts?
This paper has four stages. The first is his receipt and development of the socio-cultural context which passes through the orthodox Confucianism. The second is his framework of self-cultivation with the whole existence. The third is his making the truth he constructed realization. The final is evaluation of his theories and results of his practice.
