Objective : This study was designed to investigate the effect of visual perceptual therapy for visual perception function, cognitive function, and abilities of daily living activities in stroke patients and to find correlation among those three functions.
Methods : 47 stroke patients was treated by visual perceptual therapy from Jan. 2nd to Oct. 30th 2003. at the Occupational Therapy, department of Rehabilitation, Presbyterian Medical Center. The program of treatment is a half-hour daily therapy during 6 weeks. MVPT, MMSE-K, and MBI were used for assessment visual perception, cognitive function, and abilities of daily living activities.
Results : The scores of MVPT RS, MMSE-K, and MBI TS had a statistical significance(p＜0.01) between before and after treatment. 2) There are high correlation between MVPT RS and MMSE-K(p＜0.01), and correlated between MVPT RS and MBI TS(p＜0.05) and negative correlated between MVPT VPPT and MMSE-K(p＜0.05).
Conclusion : The visual perceptual therapy using adaptive approach and remedial approach is considered as an effective treatment in the recovery of visual perception function, cognitive function, and abilities of daily living activities in stroke patients

목적 : 본 연구는 뇌졸중 환자를 대상으로 시지각 치료 후 시지각 및 인지기능, 일상생활 활동의 회복 정도를 알아보고 이들 항목간의 관련성을 파악하는데 그 목적이 있다.
연구방법 : 연구대상자는 2003년 1월 2일부터 동년 10월 30일까지 전주 예수병원 작업치료실에서 시지각 치료를 받은 뇌졸중 환자 47명을 대상으로 1일 30분씩 6주 동안 총36회를 실시하였으며, 평가도구는 시지각 평가로 Motor Free Visual Perception Test(MVPT), 인지기능은 Mini Mental State Examination-Korea(MMSE-K), 일상생활 활동은 Modified Barthel Index(MBI)를 사용하였다.
결과 : 시지각 치료 전․후 MVPT 원점수, MMSE-K, MBI 총점수의 변화는 모두 유의하였으며(p<0.01) 시지각 및 인지기능, 일상생활 활동의 변수간의 관계성에서 MVPT 원점수는 MMES-K와(p<0.01), MBI 총점수와(p<0.05) 상관관계가 있었으며, MVPT 시지각 수행속도는 MMSE-K와 상관관계가 있었다(p<0.05).
결론 : 시지각 치료는 뇌졸중 환자의 시지각 회복 및 인지기능과 일상생활 활동 회복 능력에 영향을 미치는 중요한 요인으로 생각되며, 이들 항목들 간에는 상관관계가 있었다.
