The purpose of this research is to examine what relationship parent attachment, aggressiveness and social support have with primary school children's adaptation to school life and to determine whether or not parents' attachment and adaptation to school life are mediated by aggressiveness and social support. Polled for this research were 426 boys and girls in the sixth grade from three primary schools in Kyonggi-province. The result of pearson corelation is as follows.: first, there is a significant positive correlation between parent attachment and social support and adaptation to school life, whereas there is a negative correlation between parent attachment and aggressiveness and between aggressiveness and adaptation to school life. Second, to verify the mediating effects of aggressiveness and social support in the process of the level of attachment influencing children's adaptation to school life, structural equation modeling was performed. The result of this research is as follows. Paternal attachment is completely mediated by aggressiveness and social support, rather than directly influencing the adaptation. But maternal attachment is not just mediated by aggressiveness but is significantly mediated by social support Therefore, it has been found that, although parent attachmentis important, counseling intervention of heightening social support and lowering aggressiveness is needed to enhance the level of adaptation to school life.

본 연구는 부모애착, 공격성, 사회적 지지가 초등학생의 학교생활 적응과 어떤 관계가 있는가를 알아보고 부모애착과 학교생활 적응이 공격성과 사회적 지지에 의해 매개되는지를 알아보는데 목적이 있다. 연구의 대상자들은 경기지역 소재의 3개 초등학교에 재학 중인 6학년 남녀 아동 426명이었다. 애착, 공격성, 사회적 지지, 각 변인간의 상관계수를 산출하여 관련성을 살펴보았다. 또한 부모애착이 아동의 학교생활적응에 영향을 미치는 과정에서 공격성과 사회적 지지가 매개 변인의 역할을 하는지 알아보기 위해서 구조방적식 모형분석을 실시하였다. 부모애착, 사회적 지지, 학교생활적응의 하위요인들 간에는 전반적으로 유의한 정적 상관을 공격성과 다른 요인들 간에는 전반적으로 유의한 부적 상관을 보였다. 구조방정식모형 분석 결과 부모애착이 적응에 직접적인 영향을 주는 것보다는 공격성과 사회적 지지에 의해 완전히 매개된다는 사실을 알 수 있다. 부애착과 학교생활적응 간에는 공격성과 사회적 지지 두 요인 모두 매개효과가 있었으나, 모애착과 학교생활적응 간의 관계에서는 사회적 지지만 유의미한 매개효과가 있었다. 결과를 종합해보면, 애착도 중요하지만, 사회적 지지를 높이고 공격성을 감소시키는 상담적 개입의 중요성이 학교적응수준을 높이는데 필요함을 확인할 수 있었다.
