The evaluation of texture similarity is very important in content‐based image retrieval systems. Firstly the rotation invariance of grayprimitive co‐matrix was proved in this paper, then the texture image retrieval technique based on grey‐primitive co occurrence matrix was presented, The result of experiment indicates that the ability of this method to resist noise is better than those traditional methods.
