The Digital Radio switchover should be considered as audio-based multimedia including
audience, transmission and universal service. Digital switchover in AM provides the multiple
transmission mode, therefore the adoption of DRM service as standard is efficient because
most of countries adopt DEM service. FM has similar technologies in transmission,
therefore the adoption of terrestrial DMB way as standard is economical, considering an integration of terrestrial DMB and supply of set-topbox near the future. The Digital Radio switchover must adopt technology standard suitable for the national broadcasting environment and the international broadcasting market.
