The aims of this study were to examine the effects of the Alexander Technique on university dance students' body-ego awareness. 60 students were selected as the subjects of the study, divided into two groups-a experimental group with the Alexander Technique program and a control group without it-randomly which contain 30 persons respectively. After that, the
researcher conducted a measurement survey of them before and after applying the Alexander Technique program for 4 weeks and analysed the available results using SPSS/PC 12.0 as means and standard deviations by analysis criteria. In order to test the reliability and validity of the measurement tool, Cronbach's Alpha values were used and for analysing the difference between the experimental group and the control group, the independent samples T-test was conducted. The following results were derived through these methods and process of the study. First, after applying the Alexander Technique program, body-ego awareness factors such as self-acceptance, positive personal relationship, individual development and self-esteemshowed differences between the experimental and control groups with statistic significance, while in factors such as dominance over environment, the goals of life and autonomy, no significant difference showed between the two groups. Second, in the pre-test and post-test of body-ego awareness in the experimental group before and after the program application, factors such
as self-acceptance, positive personal relationship, individual development and the goals of life showed statistically significant differences, but in dominance over environment, autonomy and self-esteem factors, no significant difference showed between the pre-test and the post-test in the experimental group. Third, in the case of the control group without the Alexander Technique program, there was no particular change in body-ego awareness before and after the experiment.
