Sign is one of intimated ingredient that closely relate with human lives in civic engineering. Sign
would be a means to make familiar in city life as well as it could decide to make mundane image. In addition, elements of signal formation help to convey anesthetic function and information effectively which overcome peripheral expendient of linguistic aspect. Hence, this study exhibits the relationship between the formation elements (such as text, pictogram, tint, layout, form and, location) and sign, and also symbolic translation of sign can be changed by each era of culture, furthermore an emblem would be interpreted by different individual experiences. Likewise, this study is gathered the result by which prefers that satisfies an desire from users to example some simply anesthetic standards like text, pictogram, tint, layout, formation and location that between Japan and Korea in the formational elements of sign image. Consequently, this study verifies that whether intuitive expression, which reaches out a concurrence among multi-cultures, is able to take a functional utility, moreover it would have
invented high quality of sign images, because it will be pointed by not only offers some simplified
informations, multi-languages, and constantly service of plate information, but also the positions
which deemed by users, declaration information on the optical center, relatively high readability
font and hue in the optical aspect.

도시환경에서 우리생활과 밀접한 생활요소는 사인이다. 사인은 도시생활을 편리하고 친화적으로 만드
는 수단이 되며 건물들의 사인은 도시이미지를 결정짓기도 한다. 또한 사인의 조형요소들은 언어적인
요소의 보조수단을 넘어 미적인 기능과 정보를 효과적으로 전달하는 기능을 돕는다. 따라서 본 연구
에서는 사인의 조형 요소(문자, 픽토그램, 색채, 레이아웃, 형태, 위치)와 사인의 상관관계를 살펴보고
사인에서의 상징적인 의미전달이 문화와 시대에 따라 달라질 수 있고 개인의 경험에서도 상징이 주는
의미가 다르게 해석 될 수 있음을 알 수 있었다.
또한 일본과 한국의 사인이미지를 조형요소로 분석해 본 결과 문자, 픽토그램, 색채, 레이아웃, 형태,
위치 등이 단순히 아름다운 미적기준이 아닌 사용자의 욕구를 충족시켜야 한다는 결론을 얻었고 정
보의 간단함과, 다중언어의 제공, 플레이트의 계속적인 정보제공과 더불어 사용자를 고려한 위치, 시각
중심점에 정보표기, 시각적으로 가독성이 높은 서체와 색, 다문화와 합의를 이루어내는 직관적인 문자
표현이 기능적 유용성을 가질 수 있다면 질 높은사인 이미지를 시각화 할 수 있음을 알 수 있었다.
