본 논문은 고속버스, 관광버스, 선박 등에 탑승한 승객이 휴게소 등에서 승하차를 반복할 경우 운전자 및 안내자가 일일이 승객의 탑승여부를 확인하지 않고도 승객의 탑승여부를 쉽게 알 수 있도록 하는 탑승객 관리 방법 및 이의 구현에 관한 것이다. PASSIVE TAG와 ACTIVE TAG 중 어느 하나 이상을 포함하는 RFID TAG와, RFID READER를 포함하고 있는 소정 단말을 이용한 탑승객 확인 방법은, 승객의 식별정보를 등록받아 식별정보 데이터베이스를 구축하고, IN, OUT 등으로 표시되는 승객의 현재 상태를 등록받아 상기 식별정보 데이터베이스에 더 저장한다. 식별정보와 식별정보에 대응되는 승객의 현재 상태를 독출하여 화면에 출력하며, RFID TAG에 RF 신호를 송출하며 소정 정보를 요청한다. RFID TAG로부터 수신된 정보를 식별정보로 변환하며, 승객의 현재 상태를 변경 및 저장하고 변경된 현재 상태를 화면에 출력하도록 구현하였다.
