This study set out to explore the applicability of class management in the cyber space through class homepages of elementary schools. So I looked into 138 class homepages from the fourth to sixth grade in 27 elementary schools located in the N area of Cheonbuk Province. I divided into four sessions; homepage function, the method of data gathering, opened range and a technological level. As a result in survey The first, it appeared that the class publicity is stronger than communication and sharing information in the function of a class homepage. The second, it showed that the presentation of class information and participation of students are more active than an activation of education in the method of data gathering. The third, the most homepages were operated a partially opened type in the range of opening. The fourth, technological levels were reached for making the production with texts and images in a low step.

본 연구는 초등학교의 학급 홈페이지를 통한 사이버 상에서 학급경영의 적용 가능성을 탐색하기 위한 것이다. 이를 위해 전북 N지역의 27개 초등학교 4-6학년 138개 학급 홈페이지의 운영 실태를 살핀 다음, 학급 홈페이지를 통한 사이버 상에서 학급경영의 가능성과 한계를 살펴 보았다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 학급 홈페이지의 기능면에서 의사소통과 정보공유의 측면보다는 학급홍보의 기능이 강한 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 자료구축 방법으로는 교육활동보다는 학급 정보 중심 자료 제시와 학생들의 참여가 활발하게 이루어지고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 개방 범위는 부분 개방형으로 운영하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 기술적 수준으로는 비교적 낮은 단계인 텍스트와 이미지를 활용하여 제작하고 있었다. 학급 홈페이지의 활성화 방안으로 ① 참여를 위한 충분한 동기유발 요인 필요, ② 학생 수준에 맞는 화면구성, ③ 홍보, ④ 관리의 용이성, ⑤ 정보통신윤리교육, ⑥ 교사의 정보화 능력신장 등이 필요하다.
