This study researchs between Cho Sick and Yang Ming study. The philosophy of Cho Sick has not clear. It is not dualism, but monism. For this reason, His philosophy is not designated Yang Ming study. His philosophy underlines absolute subject, but this tendency is founded in Chu Xi study. There are many factors that distinguish Chu Xi study and Yang Ming study. First It is Ke-Wu(investigate outer things). Cho Sick insists that Ke-Wu relates practice. this means separation and accord Ke-Wu and practice. But Yang Ming study only insists unit it. Second is
Jing(attentiveness). He acknowledge it that always reflection inner in mind. But Yang Ming study denies it or insists innate sub consciousness. To conclude, He is not Yang Ming scholar but Chu Xi scholar.

이 글은 조식과 양명학의 관계를 다룬 글이다. 조식의 철학은 애매한 점이 많다. 주자학적인 이원론적인 성격보다는 일원론적 성격이 강하다. 그렇다고 해서 그의 철학을 양명학으로 규정될 수 없다. 그의 철학이 절대적인 주체성을 강조하지만, 그것은 주자학에서도 발견되는 것이다. 주자학이냐 양명학이냐를 구별하는 기준은 몇 가지가 있다. 먼저 격물공부이다. 조식은 격물공부를 인정하고 그것이 실천공부와 연결되어 있음을 주장한다.
