Chupa Songkisoo(1507 - 1581) had consecutively filled various government posts from the period of Jungjong to Sunjo, when he served 4 kings. While he was on the posts he showed his clear administrational thoughts through which he criticized political problems of the time.
As a result of Eulsa Sahwa which was caused by conflicts between Daeyun and Soyun right after Myungjong's inauguration and Yangjae station's poster plot, he was criticized by the Sarim party and after generations. But he firmly maintained on the side of opposition party rather than ruling Hungu party. In the process of their conflicts, he consistently criticized the corruption and impurity of dominating group. In this regard,
Chupa maintained his administrational thoughts of establishing the government of which the Sarim party stood high. Moreover, it seems that Chupa tried to progressively disband the Hungu party. He also seems to have tried to achieve the administration of the Sarim party through some compromises and mediations. This kind of administrational thoughts is rather similar to the thoughts of the Sarim party than those of the Hungu party. These thoughts came into his son and grandson(Sinheum) and seem to have affected very much the government after Sunjo.

본고에서 살핀 추파 송기수(1507 - 1581)는 중종에서 선조에 이르기까지 네 명의 왕을 모시면서 다양한 관직을 역임했다. 관직에 있는 동안 현실정국의 문제점을 예리한 안목으로 비판하는 등 뚜렷한 경세관을 보였다.
명종 즉위 후에 발생한 대윤과 소윤의 갈등으로 야기된 을사사화와 양재역벽서사건으로 그의 정치적 행보는 당대 사림파의 모진 비판과 함께 후대의 신랄한 비평을 받는 근거가 되었다. 그러나 훈구척신세력과 함께 정국의 주도권을 행사했던 주체세력이기보다는 비주류의 입장을 견지했으며, 그 과정에서 척신계의 비리와 부정을 비판하는 태도를 견지하였다. 이런 점에서 볼 때, 추파는 사림 중심의 정국 운영을 지향하는 경세관을 유지하였던 것으로 보인다.
더불어 비 사림계 훈구척신 세력을 점진적으로 해체하거나, 차선책으로 어느 정도의 타협과 조정을 통한 정치를 실현하고자 했던 것으로 보인다. 이러한 사상과 경세관은 분명히 훈구세력에 경도되었다기는 보다는 사림파의 사상과 정치관에 가까운 것이라고 할 수 있으며, 아들과 외손자(신흠)에게 계승되어 선조 이후의 정국 운영과 현실 정치에 상당한 영향을 주었을 것으로 본다.
