The purpose on this study is a comparison and an analysis about architectural design characteristics in Multiplex cinema is increasing rapidly in number. Since the first multiplex-cinema was opened 1999 in Seoul, multiplex-cinema is 77% for total cinema numbers. But, it doesn't have any data about domestically multiplex-cinema. This is compared domestically multiplex-cinema and it is grouping three types that are building's usage complex, section contrariety, and plan contrariety.
As a result of these analysis, multiplex-cinemas are able to group three different characteristics.
First, building standard about composition is sorted of multiplex cinema that is using either singleness or compositeness for cinema. Mostly multiplex-cinema are showed compositeness. Singleness type is generally remodeling theater to multiplex-cinema, however, it is a screen numbers are small that is singleness.
Second, building standard about section contrariety is sorted of multiplex cinema that is contrary to either verticality or horizontality for screen entrance. Horizontality type is also separated under floor or over floor. Those three types have a character each other.
Third, building standard about plan contrariety is sorted four types what is I type, T type, hall type, and complex type.
It can be sorted to I type, T type and Hall type, complex type, because of they are searching comparable character.
These grouping is not to apply all of domestically multiplex cinemas, but it can be sorted generally that is domestically
multiplex-cinema.
