This article aims to appreciate the philosophical spirituality of Catholic with a work De Deo absconditoof Nicolaus Cusanus (1401-1464). At the beginning of the new millennium (3,000) the Holy See(Apostolic letter am 6.1.2001)has declared that all christ need to stir up his identity on looking for the God. It means a recognizing that the church as well as christ has looked already for the first time for her God and it has been always not easy. But the God is never so complex as difficult to understand, rather He is the simplest being, in order to be in all beings. In other words, He is everywhere the origin(the Pater), effect(the Sohn) and ultimate goal(the Holy Spirit) of everything. Repeatedly, Deus est omnia in omnibus. Nevertheless critics and questions has become day after day more vehement against church and the member. Christ must collide everywhere with great temptations and several ordeals. This article try out above all an answering to suspicions about the God-being. This attempt get serious on the basis of Nicolaus’ work, what we can read and think here in our language too, because the work may give us a clue toward the solution of the question. There is a earnest hoping, of course, that this investirebuilt us our intellectus as inter-lectus.

이 글은 쿠사누스 니콜라우스(1401-1464)의 작품 ������가려계신 하 느님(De Deo abscondito)������을 중심으로 ‘가톨릭 철학’의 정신을 되새기고자 한다. 어느덧 새로운 밀레니움(3천 년대)을 시작하면서 보편교회는 하느님을 찾아가는 인간의 자기 정체성을 곧추세워야 한다는 취지를 밝힌 바 있다. 그것은 이미 처음부터 교회가 겪어왔듯이 이 세상 안에서 하느님을 찾아나서는 길이 평탄치 않음을 재확인한 것이기도 하다. 그러나 우리가 찾는 하느님 스스로가 난해할 만큼 복잡하기 때문은 아니다. 오히려 그분은 지극히 단순하시다. 그럼에도 해가 갈수록 교회에 대한 세상의 비판과 의문은 거세어지고, 신앙인은 더 큰 유혹과 많은 시련 앞에 마주서야 한다. 이 글은 신앙인이 겪어야 할 크고 많은 어려움 가운데 ‘하느님에 대한 회의적인 질문’에 대해 답변할 수 있는 지혜를 모색하고자 하였다. 이에 쿠사누스의 상기 작품이 그에 유익한 단서를 제공해줄 것 같아 선택하였다. 그의 작품을 새삼 읽으면서 ‘하느님을 찾는 인간의 노력’이 세상이 던지는 의문으로 인해 조금도 사그라지지 않고 오히려 강화되기를 희망한다.
