The purpose of this study is to introduce current trends of protestant spirituality in terms of practices and disciplines both in protestant Churches and in academic field. In spite of confusion regarding understanding of Christian spirituality, the protestant Church reached to some consensual agreements as followings. Firstly, the protestant Church and theology acknowhat spirituality is not only the discourse of spirit but an issue of body which is a textof social, political, and religious culture. Accordingly, Christian spirituality in the future should not only be referred to prayer and spiritual exercises but embraces wholistic human lives and experiences. Thirdly, proteselieve that the future Christian spirituality has to overe limitation of Christian tradition, scripture, doctrines, denomination, and regions. Therefore, protestant spiritual theolods up its narratives through inter-religious, interdisciplind intercultural dialogue. The writer also delineates some featuring elements of Christian ecofeminist spirituality as a model of protestant spirituality today.

본 소고는 현재 개신교회에서 이해하는 영성과 개신교 신학이 추구하는 영성에 대한 개괄적인 소개를 목적으로 하고 있다. 논자는 개신교 영성의 현주소를 ‘혼란’과 ‘기대’라는 두 단어로 설명하고 있다. 현재 개신교회와 개신교 신학은 가톨릭 전통과는 다르게 영성이란 용어에 대하여 생소함을 가지고 있었으며 영성에 대하여 개념적, 외연적 혼란을 격고 있는 것이 사실이다. 또한 개신교 신학 역시 영성에 대한 지속적 논의를 계속하고 있다. 그러나 이러한 혼란 중에 개신교 신학은 개신교 영성에 대한 공감대를 갖고 있는데 첫째는 차세대의 영성이 결코 사회, 정치, 경제와 괴리되어서는 안 된다는 것이며 둘째 미래의 영성은 개인의 내면생활이나 자아의식에 한정되었던 한계를 벗어나서 전인적 삶의 영역으로 확장되어야 한다는 것이다. 세 번째로 개신교 신학은 미래영성이 몸과 깊은 연관성을 갖는 몸의 영성이 되어야 한다고 확신하고 있고 마지막으로 미래 영성을 위하여 전통, 교리, 지역의 한계성을 초월하여야 한다고 본다. 따라서 미래의 영성연구는 간종교적, 간학문적, 간문화적이어야 한다는 것이다. 논자는 이러한 개신교 영성학의 하나의 모델로 그리스도교 생태여성주의 영성을 소개하고 있다. 생태여성주의 영성은 자연과 여성의 해방을 동시에 추구하는 영성으로서 자연파괴와 여성억압의 근저에 가부장적 구조가 도사리고 있음을 간파한다. 이와 관련하여 그리스도교 생태여성주의 영성은 여성해방과 자연해방의 단초를 그리스도교 전통 속에서 찾거나 그리스도교를 변혁함으로써 이루고자 하는 운동이다. 그리스도교 생태여성주의 영성의 특징은 첫째 초월적 신보다 내재적인 신과 교제하며 둘째 온 지구를 하나의 몸, 즉 하느님의 몸으로 향유하며, 셋째 구원이 영광보다 창조의 축복을 향유하며, 마지막으로 로고스로서, 메시아로서의 그리스도보다는 지혜와 치유의 주체로서 그리스도를 사귄다.
