Korean social policy is the product of industrialization?? It is said that the growth of social policy is proportionate to industrial growth rate. In Korea, social policies were initially introduced by a military regime. The military regime who took power through a military coup in 1960's claimed that they need to introduce social policy measures in order to make the nation as a welfare state. However, when their regime's legitimacy were recognized by the public after they won twice in the national elections, they began to reduce all the social policy measures that interfered with industralization. In spite of the rapid industralization, the military regime was confronted with oppositions from the people of the lower classes as the military regime was indifferent to distribution and social safe measures.
