We are living in a world where images often predominate and even isolate us from real life context due to the replacement of it by unrealistic images. Even if the images whether in movies or in other info-tech devices today play certain significant roles by upgrading our quality of life
through their convenient aids, they often produce pseudo-realities and even cause a severe isolation of the people from their down-to-earth life. Even if movie today also can not be free from such a criticism, it is true in turn that it is not only an entertainment genre a s comprehensive art but also a means of sharing common thoughts or consciousness among people living in the culturally homogenious atmosphere. Thus we need to acknowledge the fact that movie can be an efficient instrumental medium in Christian worship service as well and we need to seek strategies to use them for enhancing its efficacy and dynamics. Since the themes or thoughts of movie often reflects common concerns or issues of society or the world, it functions as common codes in worship through which people communicates both with themselves and with God. However what we have to know above all is that we should pay more attention to strengthening the traditional precious heritages in worship such as their intensified practice of lectionary preaching, the eucharist, and the recovery of historical liturgical formulars that have had people experience the full and sufficient exposure to the words of God. While we need to pay attention to the powerful function of contemporary imagery device, movie for grabbing people in worship, we should also never forget the effective and practical activation of the regular recurring systems of the Christian memoirs, the Scriptures.
