Daily Living (ADL) disabled elderly’s life satisfaction, and to seek ways to make an intervention through the social work service that can improve the ADL disabled elderly’s life satisfaction.
The implications of the study findings are as follows.
In terms of the theoretical implication, the study offers the ground for the necessity of providing specialized services in the in-home care service for the ADL disabled elderly. The study also suggests that the in-home care service should focus on the social work approaches to help elderly maintain their independent living.
In terms of the practical implication, the study suggests that a system should be set up to provide programs that offer tailored services to the elderly by assessing their health status at the community level. The study also implies that the in-home care service needs to be offered through an integrated program, and that more specialized programs should be developed including services that vitalize the body function.
In terms of the policy implication, the study advises to provide opportunities to establish the
“Comprehensive Prevention System” to set up consistent standards for practical work at the advisory board level; to develop a standard manual on different services according to the health status of the elderly; and to reinforce health and medical services and emergency medical services for the elderly with severe ADL disabilities steadily.

노인들은 일반적으로 만성질환과 장애로 기능적 활동능력에 손상을 입은데 따르는 욕구 (needs)나 문
제를 지니고 있으며, 장애노인들의 상당수는 현재 생활에 대해 불만족하고 있는 것으로 나타나고 있다.
또한 장애노인의 낮은 생활만족도는 점진적으로 노인들의 우울 증세로 이어져 신체적 활동범위의 제한
으로 연결되고 있어 신체적 기능 장애를 가속화시키고 있다(Lenze & Rogers, Matire, 2001). 노인의 ADL장애와 노인의 생활만족도 영향에 대한 가설검증 결과, ADL장애는 통계적으로 유의미한 결과를 보이고 있고, 가사도우미의 조절효과는 통계적으로 유의미하게 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과는 재가서비스가 노인의 생활만족도에 영향요인이 될 수 있다는 선행연구를 부분적으로 확인할 수 있었다는 점에 의의가 있다. 또한 본 연구는 생활만족도에 영향을 주는 재가서비스를 조절효과를 검증하는 것으로, 실천현장에서의 재가 프로그램 내용을 점검해 보았다는 데에 의미를 부여할 수 있다
